Functional Movement

What is functional movement?

At MibodyX in the initial stages of assessment we use functional movement screening to identify any possible areas of weakness, tightness and imbalances in your movement. We use the most fundamental movements for the human body, we start here so moving forward we know your true movement. If you cannot do certain movements your either already injured or you soon may well be.

Once we have done our treatment, we use functional fitness exercises to help empower you to use your body efficiently for future use and to prevent further injury. Functional training encourages the muscle groups and joints to work together as one, mimicking what movements we do on a daily basis in all tasks of our lives from walking, squatting, running, lifting and so on we encourage in our rehab and prehab routines with clients to use our upper and lower body to prepare ourselves for daily life.

Functional training helps stabilise and strengthen our joints through there entire range of motion, this is vital for the body to always be in a confident position and therefore reduces chance of injury due to being stable in any which way you position your body and its joints.
